Frustration?

Do snakes get frustrated?

I ask this as I have one animal in particular who when I take him out is always attempting to go any and every place I don't want him to go, so I redirect him in another direction and he repeats. Does he realize this, and could it in turn anger him, or does he simply see it as he is still on his way to wherever he originally wished to go?

I hope I made sense, but probably not.

I dont know about getting frustrated I would doubt it though. As for your animals always trying to go in the same direction, I feel that he is trying to go there for a reason and is not just randomly moving about. Therefore of course he will continue to go to that same spot. I hope that made sense lol Just woke up and im still drunk. hehehe

YEah but I still don't think they can get frustrated. If they can't be happy or sad what makes you think they can get upset or frustrated. And aggressive/defensive are not that same as upset. Just my Although there are animals which display these emotions I have yet to see it in a reptile.

yes i think they do get frustrated.
atleast, if hes trying to escape and you continue to block him off then he'll probably start moving faster and generally being a bit more grumpy.

im pretty sure BP's do learn.
a few times ive watched mine after handling and a couple of days ago i put him in one side of the cage and within a matter of seconds he was in the cool hide at the other side of the cage (which is a good 2ft from where i placed him, and theres alot of obstacles between there and the hide). he didnt hesitate and he didnt even flick his tongue, he knew where he wanted to go and went straight there. i would suggest that he recognised the path through touch rather than the use of heat or scent. whenever they go anywhere snakes always seem to go the route of most friction and ill bet that they remember pathways due to that.
