Heat and humidity issues
So, we're currently experiencing a very rare heat wave (100+ degrees most of this week), and I don't have air conditioning. The house is probably 80-85 degrees, and the air in Smaug's tank is between 85 and 90 with 70-75 percent humidity. I've already turned off all sources of heat (both UTHs and his overhead lamp), removed the aluminum foil from the top of his tank, and replaced his water dish with a smaller one in hopes of reducing evaporation. Is there any other way to reduce the heat and humidity? We've had this heat since Sunday, and it's supposed to last two or three more days.

Use a dehumidifer or increase the air flow around the tank with a fan. That's the best you can do until the heat passes.

Those conditions will be fine for a few days until the heat wave passes. I wouldn't try feeding your snake though.
If you haven't already, switch your substrate to paper towels. That might help bring down the humidity.

I'll see if I can find a little fan, and definitely try the paper towels. Thank you! I know the temps aren't super high, but poor Smaug is just laying in the middle of his enclosure rather than in a hide as usual, and I swear he and the cats are both giving me very accusing looks because we're all really hot. We get hot weather so rarely that I never gave much thought to how to deal with it.
