    Agressive Snake!

I have this one baby Pastel Boa and he is the most agressive animal I have ever met! I don't know what to do? I know there agressive when there babies but this guy is over the top! When I feed he coils around the rat but never ever eats it. Once he is down coiling it he decides he's not hungry and starts hissing! I am only a teenager and right now scared because most haven't been biten in there snake career and I have been bitten 6 times in the past month by him. I am trying to get rid of him but he is just to agressive to even sell. I am looking for a snake hook to buy but can't find any good ones that arn't very expensive. Does anyonme know where I can get a snake hook? Any websites? If you could help me I would really thank you because right now I am scared for my life when I open his tub!

Well first of all.. you deal with snakes so from time to time you get the aggressive ones. I have a few myself they are no fun to deal with but they are great eaters and so I deal with it.

If your going to make a real go of being a snake keeper / Breeder get the bit thing out of your mind its going to happen and its going to happen often if you keep enough snakes.

Second a good pair of garden gloves is a good start..

    Re: Agressive Snake!

The only way that the snake is going to calm down is with careful religous handling. You will need to get him out every few days to get him comfortable with you. You should wear your gloves, and use a snake hook to get him out. Most boas will calm down once they are out of their cage.

    Good luck.

    Re: Agressive Snake!

If he's striking, coiling, but not eating his feeders, he's most likely stressed, which at least some of the aggression can be attributed to. Figure out why he's stressed, fix it, and that may help some.
