Re: Gerbils
I'm not really sure; something just kind of snapped. She's barely o.k. with me getting a Snake in the first place. Unfortunately, She is one of those people who were tragically misinformed; She hears "Python" and thinks along the lines of the movie "Anaconda".
Fortunately, my great-grandfather (NOTE: My Mother had me when she was 16, so everyone in my family is younger than you would expect!) used to raise Snakes when he was a kid...and they were CottonMouths! So I expect plenty of support from that direction.

However, asf take longer to get up to size. So...if you plan to raise asf you will need at east 3 tanks and I do recommend only using tanks
a 1.1 will flood a single ball python over time.So be prepared to freeze them off.
Dillsburg has a store call turtle Xing that sells large asf's that can get you going quick. I think they are $4ea there....
I sell for half that but mine aren't nearly as big.
I have 6 breeding pairs ! You want to wean them at 4 week and keep the females and males in Diff tanks . You can always feed off the breeders you have to keep the numbers down

Do the words "Late to the Party" mean anything to You?
But Thanx anyway, that sounds like good advice.

huh? male and females in different tanks for feeders...why?
post is about breeding feeders not pets.
breeding I would try to run a high female to male ratio that is most productive and keep the male focused on breeding. I would never separate sexes unless I had to or they were related.
