New to the site and bp's
Hey guys,
My father-in-law just gave me a ball today he has had for about 4 years today with a custom tank. He also gave my sister-in-laws boyfriend the other one he had. I got the male and he got the female they have been in the same cage since he got my male. Well thats some history of mine but from what iv been reading on this forum he has been doing everything wrong. My bp has nowhere to hide he also has no heating pad. He eats live small rats pretty well. I just want some pointers and hints on how to care for my bp i really dig him so i wanna do the best i possibly can to get him acclimated to me and his new surroundings. Thanx in advance

Welcome to the site! You will really enjoy it here.
Post up some pictures so I can see what the enclosure looks like. Also list the temps and humidity, and I may be able to help your BP's enclosure be how it should and give you a little extra info . Though, I like to make my BP and snake enclosures look really cool. Basic seems to be a little boring to me.. and I don't care for the extra work I have to do when having a nice lookin' enclosure because it's worth it lol.

Welcome to the site! :0) Just know the ball python should have at least 2 hides..one on the cool side and one on the warm side..he should also have some form of heat source (either light or heat mat) that will bring the warm side up to at least 85-90 (I think bp need 90 right?)..Also make sure he has a nice water bowl and good substrate..(Aspen, repti-bark, and sandi chips are all great choices)..Also make sure you have a thermometer with a probe and the probe secured on the warm spot so you can know how warm it is for him. And finally make sure his tank has a secure lid..after that your basiclly set to go with a nice enclosure..put in a few plants, maybe a climbing fixture for decor and your set :0)
Q: How do you convince a cobra to let you hold it??
