Question Need some help deciding on Axanthic & Spider

Hi there, I love spider morphs and axanthic morphs as well. I already have a bright pastel.

I've been looking around for a nice looking spider and axanthic.

This is the spider that I'm thinking of buying, she seems like a nice coloration and pattern, but I dont know much about these yet. What do you think?

This is the axanthic I found so far. At first I though he was beautiful, but then as I kept staring at the picture, I noticed he is not realy black and silver. He has a lot of brown or red, cant tell too good from this picture. Do axanthics lose their silver coloration as the grow old? I dont want to spend the money in something I wont be satisfied with later =(

    Thanx!
    Danny

IMO not bad examples of either. I'm super picky about both my axanthics and my spiders so you have to look for the right things.

I like reduced pattern medium to high white spiders. As few dots or "O"s as possible.

Axanthics I go for as light as possible. As high contrast as you can get.

If your picky and you like them then that's all the matters

    Best of luck!

I like the spider actualy, is the axanthic Im concerned about, since I dont know much about them. Is it normal for them to lose their silver coloration? I want an axanthic that will give of nice silver morphs later down the long road.

Could you post some pics of your spider and axanthic?

Re: Need some help deciding on Axanthic & Spider

Axanthics do tend to brown out as they grow older...some to the point that it's hard to tell if an adult axanthic is a normal or not. As I understand it, the BEST line for holding their silvery color and high contrast is VPI's line, but even with those, the adults never looks as purely black & silver as the babies do. I personally, would always try to buy a VPI Axanthic, if I were shopping for one.
