Re: So XL rats don't seem like enough... What's next?
I also feed my boa rabbits, californians or new zealands usually. She is around 8 feet now and over 25lbs, plus or minus 5 years old. Sonja gets a 3-3.5lb rabbit every 3-4 weeks. This keeps her very content and in good shape. I noticed when feeding f/t rats she was always hungry and her body condition just wasn't as good(she'd eat about 4-5 large rats), she looked flabby. She's been on rabbits for quite awhile and her muscle tone is great, she's active and just looks good.

I haven't bred any in a while but I've been feeding bunnies for many long times.

Re: So XL rats don't seem like enough... What's next?
I figured that rabbits might have been the next step up. I didn't know that rodent pro had XXL and XXXL, I'll have to switch up to those when needed.
I know power-feeding is bad, and I definitely don't want to do that. I have thought my boa's head was a little bit small, but after looking at that picture, I don't really think his growth as too far off. I really need to reassess how much it is getting fed, I feel like I'm feeding too much too often.
As for a buldge... I can notice an increase in girth for probably between 2 and 4 days depending on the size of the rats that are fed. I feel like it might be a good idea to start increasing feeding times to every 10 days if I get rodents at consistent sizes. Any input would be appreciated.
I do think I'm getting the short end of the stick after looking at rodentpro's picture comparisons. It seems like the store I get them from actually sells rodentpro rats but just taxes a whole lot and sells down a size.

I've fed rabbits in the past but now just feed more rats. I like to feed 2-3 large rats ever 7 days or so instead of one large meal.
I believe smaller meals more often is better then large meals less often.
