    Bad shed and eye caps?

Firstly, I have to say that the shedding stickies are fantastic! Mambo just shed for the first time in my care. It started out pretty bad, with her head skin coming off in bits and pieces and areas on her body sort of flaking off. She trashed her viv in the process. Her humidity is usually about 65%, but it seems to have fallen slightly, which I will be taking care of! I started soaking her in a sterilite container. Within ten minutes she had managed to rub the skin off on the paper towels I lumped in there for her. My concern, though, is that I cannot tell if she shed her eye caps. I unfolded all the bits and pieces in her viv that I could, but I did not find anything resembling the top of her head. It is shed, though, and looks great!

Should I be worried that her eye caps may not have come off, or will she be okay until she sheds again? Should I watch for anything that could clue me in as to whether they came off or not? She seems to be happy and active and exploring my shoulder at the moment.

    Thanks in advance!

You shouldn't be too concerned. If the remainder of the shed came off with the paper towels, then more than likely the eyecaps came off as well. You can look closely at the eyes and should be able to see a border around the caps. In any case, just leave her alone and make sure the humidity is up to par for the next shed.

Thanks. Her eyes look good, so I'm sure I'm just being a worry wart over it, as normal! I plan to add a humid hide for her during her next shed just incase there are any changes to the over-all humidity again. My apartment is usually pretty humid with the fish tank, and this year it has rained a lot! I'm not sure what caused the dip, but I'm keeping a good eye on it!
