    2009 prices

    hello guys,

This my first post but iv been lurking for a while now. I've been keeping balls for about ten years and I'm ready to invest in my first morphs. I'd like to pick up an albino and maybe a pied het. I have show soon (northern berk's) and I've been looking online and was wondering if t5he 09 prices are going to be pretty much the same as 08.

Also considering what morphs I'm looking at are there any lines I should look at first?

    Thanks

In my opinion, lines have little to do with what YOU like about an animal. If it looks good and is in your price range, then go for it. Not only that, but albinos and het-pieds don't really have "lines" outside of low-very high white pieds, and high and normal albinos, as far as I've seen atleast.

That being said, prices will vary from show to show, but they should be close to '08 prices.
2.1 Pastels - ED, George, Ailia.
    1.0 '08 Poss. Het Albino - Norm
    0.1 Proven Normal - Ragani

On the way IE when I have the money:
    0.1 Albino
    0.1 Spider
    0.1 Mojo

As far as price goes the 09 should be a little cheaper due to that an 08 should have more size on it.For albino look for the ones with the high contrast on them. With het pied, one that will eat good(tend to be a little picky) and if you can get it as a ringer or with markers its a plus......best of luck

Thanks for the quick replys. I've been looking around and as far as the albinos go I've seen them for as little as $500. While that is a price I can do I'. wary of a price that seems to be a couple of hundred bucks less than the going rates.

I'm just trying to determine the what is a "good deal' as opposed to "too low to be good"

I asked about lines because I want to be sure I'm getting an aminal that is coming from a place that is reputable and I can feel comfortable in the purchase.

I've been dealing with normals so for the most part its been relativly low risk, I feel like I'm stepping up a notch and want to make the best purchase possible.

I'd go with babies/juvies so you can get them eating the way you want. I've purchased adults in the past that took a while to get eating or would only eat live prey.
I know it isn't what you asked but advice worthy. Prices will be cheapest on babies compared to the 08's.

$500 is not abnormally low for an albino. This years hatchlings will definitely be cheaper than 08's. The price of pretty much all morphs goes down every year.

That's really just a personal preference. I think the majority of people like high contrast albinos, but many people like low contrast ones as well.

People in general are hurting for money, more snakes are born every year(increasing supply), and while the hobby is growing there are fewer people joining the hobby than snakes being born. Prices are dropping steadily for all morphs, but not drastically.

Thanks for the input... If I could find an albino Hi or Low contrast I'd be temped to jump on it. I guess I'll keep my eyes peeled. I plan on going to the northern berk's sow on the 1st so I hope I can find a deal (or maybe two).
