Hides

Just wondering if it is necessary to provide a hide for a bp if you house it in a rack?

From what I've heard, most people with racks provide one hide. But, I may be wrong.

I have a friend that breeds and doesnt give them hides in her racks. Im not sure if this is what the general feelings of most of the people here are, but her snakes dont seem to be stressed, eat well, and have bred fairly well as well.
