    Well...Shoot...

I'm making larger tubs for my weaners, so I went out an bought some. I'm using there sterilite tub method from the sticky (Have some smaller ones for my breeders - they're GREAT), and STarted cutting away at them.
Only after I started cutting did I realize that the tubs that I got, with wheels, have a lot of raised parts in the inside where they ASFs could chew.....
So, Now that I've spent my $24 on 2 tubs that I cannot return, what should I do? Someone suggested filling the tubs with a lot of litter (it would have to be 2 inches deep to cover the wheel "wells") and provide a lot of chewing blocks and a wheel to keep the occupied.
I had a hard enough time finding these tubs, they're the perfect size, and like I said I'm a fair way through having them complete...
    What do you think??

I would suggest putting litter etc down to cover the raised areas, then laying down 1/2" chicken wire, or....you could just use the chicken wirse to cover raised areas, and tie down with meatl wire or metal clamps.

It will be a major pain to deal with. Trash them and try again. your only out 24 bucks. Good quality rat traps will cost you a lot more then that when they escape.

You could always fill the wheel wells with putty and sand em smooth.

I'd ditch em, I've had rats chew out of wheel wells in a few hours.

    Thanks guys....
After many sorries to my husband we decided we do need to scrap them and start over.
I'm glad I didn't get too far along in the process...I just HATE making these tubs...grr...

For ASF's, Deborah (mod) has kept them in a rack with success. She has plans on her website, or here I think somewhere.
