Female behaviour during introduction
Hi guys, I`m new to BP breeding.
Couple months ago I introduced my 800g male to my 1600 female, but when the male gets close to the female, she keeps bounce him away with her body, and she was like let some urine and tiny drip of blood out all over the substrate.
Is that means she is not ready for breeding yet or she doesn`t like the male??
How long does the lock up happen usually after introduction?
Also I want to know can BP breed without any temp drop or shorten day light??
Thank you very much
P.S. I apologize for my poor english.

Re: Female behaviour during introduction
I cant answer about her bouncing him. But I can tell you theres people who breed that dont cool their repatiles. So yes its possible.

We have had alot of successful breedings, and we never cool our animals at a all.

Re: Female behaviour during introduction
This is breeding behavior! The females will usually start to move around a lot when the male is introduced, and open up their scent glands in the vent which in turn leads to a bit of blood being let out...
Check out this vid, if this is what it looks like when you introduce your male, then everything is all good!
