What type of pastel are these two?
I got these two at the same time, and was told they had one parent in common, though I forgot to ask if the parent in common was the normal or the pastel.
Anyway, I really don't know what type they are, I need some experts to weigh in =)

The top one is the female. She is about 175g and much darker. The male is the bottom one and is really bright. He is about 475g.
thanks

You actually can tell the lineage of the pastel by an image. It looks like the male is a lemon pastel line from NERD but the female could be a Graziani Pastel or something else.

Pastels are so mixed nowadays that unless it came from reputable breeders with known lineage, it's impossible to say for sure.
As long as you enjoy them, does it matter?

Its impossible to tell lineage from a picture unless you are the breeder who paired the snakes. That is why we always give people the advice to shop the individual animal and not the line. Pastels were one of the first morphs in the market and I'm sure lineage has gotten cloudy along the way. Only way to be 100% positive of your lineage is to buy direct from NERD, Graziani, Bell, etc.

Oh, I enjoy them, but people ask me and I'd like to have an answer. I've heard that lemons brighten up as they age, which could explain why the baby is so much "duller." These were both purchased at a Miami reptile expo by the way, I just found the dude's card and sent him an email maybe he will remember.

Re: What type of pastel are these two?
Depending on the female that a male pastel breeds, the pastels that come out of it could look radically different.
It happens.
That is why you breed for quality.

And for the record, no, you can't...

Yeah I didn't think ya could but it was worth a shot.
And yeah I have two females with really nice blushing that I am going to breed hm to. Then the season after that it's super pastels whhooohoo!
An aside: money-wise would it be better to breed a male pastel to a normal or a yellow (they're also called butterscotch right?) ghost to get all100% ghost hets? Or are 50-50 normals and pastels better?
And I know I am not in this for the money but if I have an extra female to breed I'd like to produce the most sellable babies, and everyone and their mother breeds pastel.
