Did not eat

Tonight I fed my ball python a hopper mouse. The last three feedings she has gobbled down three fuzzy mice with zero problems. Judging from her girth she could handle a hopper.

Tonight I fed her a hopper. She struck and constricted the frozen thawed hopper.........however she did not eat it. She wandered for a few moments and then retreated to her cave. Anyone else ever had this happen?

Yes, I left it in the cage for a few hours and when she did not eat it I removed it. The next feeding two days later I followed the advice of a member on this site and "pre scented" the cage before presenting the mouse. She hit it immediately. Good luck.

I've had it happen a few times with some of my 500g+ balls... It's frustrating but sometimes they just do that...

Normally she strikes quickly and aggressively......but tonight no clue what happened. However, I will try "pre scenting" the cage. I guess you just lay the thawed mouse on top of the cage for 30-45 minutes prior to feeding?
