But I need to make sure the temps can be maintained at all times before I put them outside.

It would also get the inlaws off my back about the snakes eating there grandkids!
LOL, I am just going to let them eat my inlaws

that thought has crossed my mind numerous times lol. They seem to believe if by some chance the snakes actually got out of there cages then got out of the locked room the first thing on there mind would be to eat the kids. Completly pass by the dog and cats and go straight to the children lol

another idea,,,is one company,,completely forgot who right off the top of my head, makes a unit, its similar to regular central heat and air, using a large unit outside, but mainly to control smaller units that hook to it,so you dont need to run completely duct work and such

We keep ours in a Building on our Land, works great, we've got a better heating and a/c system than our house in it lol.
Heres a link to our original thread we posted and a few updated pictures.

We finished the inside of a wood frame barn with metal siding. This is before anything was done, except concrete prep.

    Front

    Main Ball Python Room

    Incubator

    Bearded Dragon Room

It's definatly alot of work but well worth it when you are thinking of the future.

That looks alot like the one we are wanting to use. Ours already has the concrete and it has insulation behind the wood framing so you cant see the metal but I dont know how good the insulation is. Yours looks great though I would love to know more about you guys went through with all that. I would love to have something like that

    Re: Reptile building???

Aren't you scared of people stealing your stuff Danny? I am always afraid of that. I don't have much but what I have I want if you know what I mean. Maybe I am just paranoid-lol. I feel safer with the animals in the house with a security system and dogs. But I can understand wanting to free up room in your house and getting the larger pythons away from your kids

    Re: Reptile building???

actually Ive already been down that road. We had our house broken into last year while we were at a reptile show. And they took my favorite animal. It had to of been someone I knew because they knew exactly what they were looking for. But this building has a security system hooked up to it. And also the dog kennels will be directly across the yard from the building. Most people dont even know I own snakes anymore. I dont tell alot of people and the only people that would ever see what is in that building is someone I really trust. I use to post adds in the paper here for a snake I was trying to move and Id let them come out to the house and pick it up and everything and I just dont do that anymore because you cant trust anyone.

Sorry that happened to you bro!!! And it is ALWAYS the worst when it is one of your friends (so called friends anyways) That's awsome that it has a security system hooked up to it And with the dogs as back up you across the way, you should be good to go
