    Update on my group

Well after a not so good first litter with this group and a adult female getting killed I think things are turning around. I knew there was a second litter but didn't want to disturb them except to feed/water. Well now those babies are out and running around. About another week I'll probably be weaning them. But I got a surprise when I went to clean the cage out today. More babies!

Not sure which female they are from as both females are tending to them. I hope to have a new group with the older babies. There are four older babies and then at least 5 younger babies.
And of course here is a picture.

    Thanks!

With the babies that size you can probly wean them now. I've been giving them 3-4 days after the first ones open there eyes and they've been doing great.

    Re: Update on my group

Thanks! I am glad it's working out too. I looked in on them this morning and I think I'll probably take the older ones out this week since I saw them eating and drinking on their own just fine. Plus I think the other female is pregnant as she's getting pretty big.

Now I just have to see if I can sex the babies so I can put them in the right tubs. I'm hoping for at least one male and two females so I can start up a new group.

    Re: Update on my group

Decided I would finally try to sex the just weaned babies. Thought it would be harder but I guess they were old enough to definitely see the boys parts. So I ended up with 2 boys and 2 girls. So I kept the one boy that looked the best and my Corn Snake had a nice treat with the other boy. (Bad thing being born a boy-sometimes you get to be the bull but most times you just end up hamburger).

So I now have my second group of 1.2. Here's to lots of babies in my future!

    Thanks!
