During feeding my python sometimes eats sum SUBSTRATE.(since it is already stuck to the mice bodies) what can happen? i currently have loose coco fiber as a substrate
Re: What can happen if my pythons eats her substrate
as long as it not too much material, it shouldn't be a problem. their stomach acid is so strong it breaks down almost anything. That being said, try not to let them get too much in their- a lot of substrate over time can cause some digestive problems. If your feeding f/t, make sure the rat is dry and put it on a napkin or something to minimize the amount of substrate that gets stuck.
Re: What can happen if my pythons eats her substrate
if they eat enough of it they can become gut impacted. however coco fiber and aspen are good choices because they are soft and usually dont cause issues if little is eaten. all 3 of my snakes eat a bit of aspen each feeding.
