    spider update!!

so im updateing my female spider i posted a week ago, shes now on day 65 from ovulation, she still looks the same as before and still very large and swollen, i can actually see every egg inside of her, she still perfectly healthy and acting normal, but still no eggs, i have never had a female go this long in all my years of breeding!
does anyone else out there have any females that have gone 65 days from ovulation and still laid?
    thanks!!!

Okay now I just spoke to a good reliable source and he said that if you are 100% sure that she did ovulate that actually is not too long just be patient. Now is that 65 days including the shed already happening?

    Re: spider update!!

hey man like i told you before when we spoke . every breeder i have spoke with that i am good friends with has all told me the same thing including myself .. females for some dam reason this year are going longer then normal . if you can see the eggs that means shes due anyday . i bet within the next 2 days when you wake up either day you will be finding she laid her eggs ..
I love it when people tell me, "You should think before you speak!" I'm like, "I did. It's what I think and I really don't give a crap what other people think."

    Re: spider update!!

I've been looking for an update on this one! Is she still laying inverted like those pics?

I haven't done any breeding myself yet (next season!), but my reason to be concerned would be not so much the number of days, but how long she's looked like she should go any day. I think Heather posted 3 days tops, and that was about a week ago.

I vaguely remember reading about being able to test if a female is eggbound by lifting her up by her tail and seeing if the eggs move up and down her body or not. DO NOT DO THIS BASED ON MY POST! But it might be worth looking into or asking some of the more knowledgeable breeders?

    Re: spider update!!

Mario and I have discussed it in PMs, and we decided that if she doesn't lay after Friday, to take her to a Vet.

i had a girl that layed 42 days after her pre lay shed this year. i didnt record exactly when she ovulated but from ovy to lay it must have been around 60 days or so.

hope she lays before friday for you.
