purchasing a milksnake..
I'm talking to someone who is selling an albino milksnake. I am very interested in it, she said it comes with a large 30 gal tank with top, bedding, hide rock, water dish, heat pad. I have a BP right now and wandered if there was anything extra i need to know about the milksnakes before i get it. Temps differ from BP's? Humidity? Different setup alltogether? she said it is a great eater and is about 3 yrs. old. thanks!!!

Re: purchasing a milksnake..
Hi,
I would ask her which species it is and then start looking for good caresheets and such as specific as you can get.
Try and get some good clear pictures of it if you cannot inspect the animal itself beforehand.
Also just ask the general questions - how is it with handling. what and how often does she feed it etc.
If you have only handled BP's before they definately move a lot quicker until they settle down.
But find out what kind of milksnake it is and then go from there.

Re: purchasing a milksnake..
We have an Albino Nelson's Milksnake and she's just a great snake to own. They are incredibly good escape artists though so I'd recommend that if the tank lid doesn't come with multiple lid locks you get some. Like Derek said, find out the exact type of milksnake this one is, the feeding schedule, type of prey, what their handling routine is, etc. This will help you help the snake settle in better to it's new home.
