Soaking problem

Is there a reason why my BP soaks excessively? There's no mites and no shedding issues. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I have three that love to soak, if your husbandry is spot on, then that's what they want to do.

The other main reason that comes to mind for excessive soaking (assuming no mites or shed issues), is temperature. You may want to check that your hot spot is not too hot, or the ambient temperatures are not too high. Balls will often soak to cool down. Even alot of my females that are developing follicles this time of year will soak in the water bowls, or "bowl wrap" as some say. Both of these actions are done in an attempt to lower body temps.

If I counted correctly, this is the 3rd thread you've started about your BP soaking a lot. The answers you've already gotten pretty much cover the subject.

You also started a thread about your BP having mites. So I'm confused why you now say it doesn't.

You also had a thread about how you were going to put your new BCI in the same cage as your BP, with a divider, until you got a new cage. Perhaps your BP has mites now because you skipped QT?
