Question Not sure if this is the right area for this?

ok I would like to know if the temps and humidity I have in my 40Qt tubs is ok for my snakes. Right now they are all around 81 degrees and the humidity is around 53% give or take a few degrees and percent. Is this ok for my snakes??

You need to provide gradient temps, you should have a cool side and a warm side.

What are the dimensions of the tubs?

53% is okay. Personally, I like to keep it a bit higher, around 60%, and during sheds, it's helpful to have it around 70%.

81* as an ambient temperature is great, but BPs like a basking spot (warm area under a hide) of around 90-95*, although all snakes are different. If my girl's warm spot gets any higher than 93*, she moves to her cool hide.

Yes that is the ambient temp and I have a hide in each over a uthp. It is much better since I have tried 3 different beddings and all kept the humidity to the max at 99% and now just lined the bottoms with 2 layers of paper towels and it seems to be good. So any suggestions is welcomed! Oh forgot the dimensions of the tubs! LOL They are 26 1/8" long by 13 1/4" wide and 6 3/8" high.

It sounds like you are doing pretty good with your setup. Be sure you are measuring the temps under the hides where the UTH is. If you do not already have one, you will need a t-stat or at least a rheostat (dimmer) to control the temps.

So you should have atleast 2 temp and humidity gauges in each tub?? Where do I get cheap flex tape and the thermostats?? I have been checking around but am kinda unsure of exactly what to get. I will try and get a pic posted of my setup maybe that would help some.

Yes. Either two thermometers (digital, not those cheap ones sold at pet stores), a thermometer with a probe, or a tempgun.

If you keep multiple reptiles, I highly reccommend a tempgun.
However, if you only have one reptile and don't have immediate plans for more, a digital thermometer with a probe is much cheaper.
It seems that this one, the AcuRite, is most popular among reptile-keepers. I used these for mine until I got my tempgun. They work well. This one is $12 at Walmart.

You can buy flexwatt heat tape here.

I'm pretty sure they don't sell it at Home Depot or Lowes, but you could check.

Thermostats and rheostats should be available at your local hardware store.

This is the kind of rheostat I use, sold for $10 at Home Depot. I'm not sure about thermostats.

    Pictures would be great.

I am in the process of adding photos so I will post here. I have 6 bp's total. 1.1 Normals, 1.1 Albinos, and a female pinstripe and a male spider. But when my brother goes back to NC he will be taking his 3 with him. The Albinos and the spider. So I will be left with my three. Pictures coming very soon if I can figure out the photobucket thing.

Shouldn't you know all about housing a snake before owning 6? I'm not trying to be rude, But wow.

If you have that many snakes, get a johnsons controls or ranco from reptilebasics.com
That is a great thermostat and will last you forever. It is expensive, but you will most likely never have to buy another.

    Reptile basics also sells flexwatt.
