Re: tub question.
I wouldn't reccommend something like that. You can heat tubs using a UTH (under tank heater) or by flewatt (heat tape) Reptile Basics sells heat tape. Thermostats regulate heat sources such as a UTH or flexwatt, to ensure that you don't burn your animal. I wouldn't recommend using those kind of tubs, because I'm not certain that the heat tape wouldn't melt them. You can always build a rack, that way you can build it exactly the way you want it. For ideas, look in the DIY ( do it yourself) section of this forum : http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/f...play.php?f=125

Re: tub question.
They can escape easily out of those very easily. They don't work.
For heating any type of enclosure you MUST use a thermostat or a temporary rheostat until you have a thermostat. This makes sure that your snake doesn't come in contact with temps higher than 95*F.
The thermostat just monitors and controls a heat source. So you would have to get flexwatt heat tape or a UTH with a thermostat.

Re: tub question.
Those are very unstable, and they don't seal very well. Bps are escape artists and could get out.
Thermometers measure heat, thermostats regulate heat. It's no different than the thermostat in your house, where you turn the heat up and down. Most people use flexwatt tape on thier racks, and it needs to be controlled with a thermostat. You can use Under tank heaters, but it would be expensive, and you can only control so many of those with one thermostat. Try here for the flex watt. He's really good at answering questions, and he can customize it for you. www.reptilebasics.com
Hope that helps.
