Egg loosed section of external layer ...

Thanks for stop here to read my concern!
Well, I keep my gravid females on aspen, so one of them made a nest, removing all the beeding from that spot. Once she finished her egg laying job, I removed all the eggs that were deposited by the female directly to the tub, but the problem was that one of the eggs was very tightly sticked to the plastic surface. This egg was removed with extreme care, and did not cracked or loose any kind of liquid but unfortunally one small section (about half square inch) of the outermost egg layer, was left on the tub itself!

As I remember this external layer has some antibiotic properties that may be needed on a developing egg. Does anybody has experience in souch a situation?
Am I still have good chances of this egg to hatch??

    Thanks for your time!

The eggs were from a female x fire. Here at the incubator ...

Get some liquid bandaid, put a layer on the spot, and leave it alone

    It should be fine..

Re: Egg loosed section of external layer ...

I would follow Heather's advice to a T. However, a liitle extra info. Last year, while trying to seperate some eggs after they were laid, I actually tore on of the eggs, bad enough to have some fluid leak out. I placed the hole against another egg, and pressed it into the other egg. After about 7-10 days, the spot had sealed up, and a beautiful Enchi crawled out of that egg 57 days later. I would say you will be fine, especially since you didn't actuall compromise the integrity of the shell.

    Good Luck,

Hey thanks a lot for your superfast replies. LaddyOhh, I going to your try to follow your advise but the imperfection is the lower part of the egg. Do you think is safe to pick the egg for a moment to apply that liquid bandaid on the uderside? Muddoc, thanks for sharing that experience!! Its indredible that you egg actually leak some fluid and then hatch without problems!! Enchis are just amazings!
    Thanks again!

Even though it is the underside, Liquid Band-aid actually dries pretty fast. Apply it to the egg, and blow on it for a minute, and set it back down. You should be fine.
