Feeding mice that were sedated with Ketamine/Xylazine
Anyone know if it is safe for a snake to consume a mouse that was sedated with a Ketamine/Xylazine cocktail around 30 minutes before it was euthanized?

I have a better question why would you want to do that?

Re: Feeding mice that were sedated with Ketamine/Xylazine
I would not. There would likely be effects to the snake from ingesting the drugs.
Why was the mouse sedated??

I would be scared they did something else to the muse that would cause harm to your snake. Like gave it some whacked out lab created super virus. Not likely but I have seen all those zombie movies

Re: Feeding mice that were sedated with Ketamine/Xylazine
It takes longer than that for those drugs to run their course and leave the mouse's system, so unless it's been at least a few days since they were last sedated, I would not think about feeding them to anything. I believe they have a very low toxicity compared to a lot of other medications, but they are strong dissociative anesthetics, like PCP, so I wouldn't want my snakes getting zonked out like that or worse.

Funny that that even came up.

I was only being half serious about the zombie virus, but you still have to wonder what they did to the mice.
