what size watt would i need for one of these for a 10g tank, and can i have a regular bulb for a snake?

The Zoo Med ceramic Heat elements say that a 60W will heat a 10-20 gal. tank. I'm not quite sure what your second question is...

like its a purple bulb
Can you use a purple bulb? The only think I would use is a red light or moonlight bulb.
