Yesterday SUCKED!
Yesterday for me was quite interesting. I received alot of bad news and some good news, while at the same time accomplished some things that I started.
Yesterday morning, I woke up to seven dead baby rabbits(momma abandoned them and killed quite a few herself), one survived and is temporarily being cared for by one of my nursing female rats (she is the best momma rat eva!).
Yesterday afternoon, I finished cleaning my pool! And it was filthy, took me two days to clean, and I barely had any help. After that, I had scheduled a vet appointment for my female bp, Juno. I have been breeding her this season, before yesterday I thought there was a rather good chance that she was gravid. Sadly that wasn't the case, vet told me she wasn't gravid and then showed me how to palpate the right way. Hopefully next season will be more sucessful. I think what I did wrong this season was that I didn't back my male up enough. Next season will be better though, it has to be.
Yesterday evening, I had some female mice (quarantined) that I was planning to use as future breeders, both were white with gold spots, along with them I had some of their litter mates that were going to be feeders, I checked on them in the afternoon, and after dinner. After dinner, I noticed that one of the two female mice that I was going to keep was dead, and the other severly injured. Fortunately it was feeding day, so I seeked my vengence shortly after.

Oh I want a picture of a rat nursing a rabbit!
Sorry you had a bad day. I know how it is. Instead of good morning this morning from my husband when he got in from nightshift I heard "JO THE CAR IS ON FIRE!"
This is never a good way to start your day.

That's sad I hope the little one will make it, better buy some bottles and some milk substitute because it seems like you gonna have to step up to the plate and play mommy as well. I wonder how long she will be able to sustain his needs probably not very long.
Next season will be better though, it has to be.
It will plus she can spend a long vacation in GA

I'll try my best to get a pic of her nursing him, I tried once but she ended up taking him and running to the back of the tub, she gets stressed easily.
Ah, that friggin sucks, a similar experience like that happened to me a year ago. "Jason, THE YARD IS ON FIRE!"

Me too, he is the cutest lil rat pinkie I've eva produced. Yups, did that today, got a bottle and some puppy formula and fed him. I figure 1-2 bottle feedings a day should get him back up to weight with the help of momma rat. Don't know how long she'll be able to care for him, he'll be opening his eyes when he is about 10 to 14 days old, so depending on his weight I will problably separate him at that time. He is so cute, he looks like a lil kangaroo(minus the tail )!
Yay, hopefully Cylde can work his magic. Hopefully one day I can get some babies from her sired by Al, I know they'll produce some hawt normals..one day. Maybe the following season.

That sucks, I am sorry to hear about that, hell if I live near ya I'ld help ya out. Yeah, there has been this sickness going around here, I am just praying I don't get it.
Anyways, today was alot brighter. The baby rabbit is doing great and it didn't take much to bottle feed him which is good. Plus, I gots some new additions!

We also have about a 12 chicken eggs in the hovabator right now, so fingers crossed yall.

Oh my. I hope everyone else is ok.
Must be something in the air. I just got back to my apt from waiting 1 hour downstairs because I locked my car keys in the car. Not too bad a problem to have, but it cost me $130 that I'd rather not have spent.
Sure hope everybody has a better day tomorrow...
