handling techniques

A bunch of you guys said to break in the BP's for handling to touch for 10 days straight a few minutes a day. My snake seems to be doing weird things now
she struck at nothing once and burrows under her aspen now. She also moves a lot quicker. Ive had her for more than a month and i dont even know if i should use this handling ritual now...she seems pissed

i would stick to handling just a few minutes every other day or two myself. she might be getting stressed from the daily handling too. when you do handle her just keep her close to you and sit down with her so she's not high of the ground. if she just wants to sit all balled up thats fine.she'll uncoil when she's ready and feels nonthreatened. it may take many handlings but be patient. When I begin to handle a new snake, I usually just quickly take them out and plop them on the ground in front of me and let them explore while I am next to them. After doing that for about a week, I start picking them up and holding them intermittently while they are slithering on the ground. Then after a few days of that they stop caring about being picked up.
Limit handling sessions to 10 minutes while your snake gets used to you.

Usually when they are younger they are very squeamish and tend to move very fast. The burrowing in the aspen has nothing to do with her temperament I would think. What kind of hides does she have?

she has a rock and coconut shell.

Heres the thing when i handled her before she was more relaxed. i feel like i cant get her out of teh tank now cuz shes mad. Like she starts crawling under her own body and makes "S" necks a lot now. Once I lift up her hide she starts burrowing. Does she hate me?

All of mine are a little fiesty when I take them out, they calm down after handling though.

Have you made any recent changes to her enclosure? Can you think of anything that you have done differently since she started acting like this?

I don't think a snake can hate..

She's a wee little baby, and your a big heat emmitting monster to her. It will take time and patience to get her used to you, and get her to remember that you wont eat her.

i did change her hides. From half log to those. Maybe that was it?

Just be patient she'll get used to handling ,I had my big girl out earlier tonight and she didn't want to go back in her tub, I had to finish applying male-up & getting ready with her around my neck

Yeah, just let her settle in and get used to the changes. She should come around
