Your largest litter
With my first group (1.3) that I got back in september the largest litter they gave me was 12 and haven't produced since January. I was a little disappointed.
About 4 weeks ago I set up a new trio. The first mom dropped 12 on the 7th and the second dropped 19 on the 9th. So I have a giant pile of 31 pinkies, its hilarious watching them try to nurse them all.
So anyway, to the point of this thread.
What's the largest litter of ASF's that you've ever had?

Re: Your largest litter
18 or 19 I think! It's so difficult when two mommas have litters at the same darn time and you're trying to guess if maybe one had two less than the other, or if they both had the same amount!

Re: Your largest litter
I had one first time momma drop 21 on me.
I think I lost a few of them, but it was my second litter so I was still attentive and actually counted them.
I get a lot of litters around 19 babes. But have some lines that routinely drop around 12-14.

I was lucky that the litters were 2 days apart and could count the 1st one.

WOW 21, I thought 19 was a lot. Hopefully she will keep producing this way so I can hold back a few of her daughters to make some new trios.

They do not call them multimammate rats randomly. Those little beggars have 20 nipples.
My rats have like 10? And I routinely get litters of 15. So these freaks (and I say that with admiration - not love) could feasibly have litters of 25 or more.

Re: Your largest litter
Mine gave birth 4 times already. 3 litters had 12, one litter had 10. Which is just perfect for my needs, especially since I had a period of snakes fasting...

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I don't believe it. sorry to call you out..... But lets try to keep it real around here.
It is a common mistake. 2 females can give birth, and all the babies end up in one pile. sometimes you don't even realize the second mom was prego.... and you assume that they are all from the same litter.
thanks.
