You know I really have to take exception with all these comments. What is your problem(s) with a new keeper using gloves? This is not some ego "I'm too cool for gloves" deal here folks and teasing someone over the use of gloves is, to my mind, just a bit ridiculous.
So he used gloves and you don't - big whoop. If a person feels more comfortable using a glove, or a hook or whatever and it helps them develop into a more confident person, does it help them for you all to laugh at them? Please remember that one of the goals of this site is and has always been helping newcomers to snakekeeping. Laughing at someone is NOT a very good way to achieve that.

I don't think anyone really meant anything malicious by it, and honestly, I have to admit to having laughed at first too after reading the title and then seeing the image.

However you choose to react is your choice. When a member chooses to post their reaction, they leave themselves open for comment. I chose to make my comment and it stands as my opinion on this sort of reaction to newcomers.

Thank You!
Guys, I have a little bitty 251 gram Cinny that I use gloves for when I handle him. He's a very skittish little guy, and repeatedly bites me anytime I have to do tub maintenance. Of the five BP's we currently own, he's the only one who thinks he's a Black Mamba.
I use the gloves not because I think he'll hurt me with his 251 grams of fury, but simply because after 10 hits while trying to change his water, it just gets old after a while.

You're welcome, Slim.
As for me, I keep gloves in the top drawer of my supplies desk. I use them when I consider it prudent to do so regardless of the species or size of the snake I'm dealing with. I've been bit and it's no biggie with the snakes I own but on occasion the gloves serve a good purpose and get the job done more efficiently for me than a bare hand approach.
