The theory is that the spider morph causes this and anything with spider in it has the possiblity to do this. The spider siblings that are normal are not supposed to do this.

Re: How bad is your spiders wobble or spinning disorder!

IIRC all spiders are descended from a single WC male that had the disorder and it is genetic to the spider allele. Normal siblings do not get the allele so they don't get it. As to why some do it and some dont... well in some lines it might be bred out or at least lessened. The further we get away from the first spider the more we can selectively breed it out. I'd also like to get ahold of one that does not spin at all since then I can breed knowing that my offspring would have a good chance of not spinning.

My Bee does it sometimes. She is still a little one. I hope it calms down or goes away. Either case, she is still an awesome Bee .

Re: How bad is your spiders wobble or spinning disorder!

Never seen my bee do it. She is closing in on 2 years of age and we have had her for about 1 year and 2 months. She also refuses to eat rats, but loves her mice. You can try a rat for months and she will not touch it, but you can remove the rat and drop a mouse in right away and she pounds it. We just got 2.5 ASF rats and once they start breeding good we are thinking of maybe giving them a try with her since it seems like an endless night when you have to feed her 4 or 5 mice on feeding day one at a time.

Re: How bad is your spiders wobble or spinning disorder!

I have 6 spiders now(had 8) and most of them show very little much signs. One does wobble a little right before he stikes at food.

From what I have seen stress or excitement seems to cause them to do it more. I heard someone compare it to Terrets(spelling) syndrome in humans which seems to get amplified when nervous or excited. Good thing they cant speak #$%*^@

Like people with terrets other than that behavior they are quite normal.

I've also heard of a spider that either didn't wobble or had very little wobble having offspring that did wobble alot more.

I feel pretty lucky with my little girl. The only sign she really shows is that she looks a little unsteady before she strikes.
