Plants for humidity?

My humidity has been holding around 42% for the past week. I have a book that says putting a plant in the tank will help add humidity. So yesterday I bought a large plant and put it in. I know the plant is working because there is condensation on the inside glass, but my humidity only went up to 43%. Any ideas?

I had a big pro. With humidty and tried qlot of things but what works best for me so far is having a big wet towel cover about 4/5ths of my screen lid. It keeps my humidty around 55 to 60 percent and I just have to wet the towel once in the morning when I wake up. Make sure to wash the towel ever couple days just to be safe from any mold. I have 2 towels that I use so I can have one in the wash while another one is on the cage. Lemme know if this helps ya brother

Is that how much humidity the ball python really needs is 50% that seems like alot

When I went to bed last night the humidity was at 43%. But when I woke up this morning it had risen to 50%. Which is odd because it was cool last night. Normally the cooler it is the harder it is to produce/control my tanks humidity. I will be so glad when summer gets here, humidity won't be a problem then.

Forgot to mention. My BP shed last night for the first time since I've had him. He really looks nice now.

Is that how much humidity the ball python really needs is 50% that seems like alot

50% is concidered an average minimum humidity. Most people try to maintain 50%-60% on a regular basis, and then bump it up toward 70% during a shed.

What are you measuring the humidity with and where is it located in the tank?

I just use a bit of damp moss to up the humidity and it works just fine.

I got mine at the pet store. Its called Sphagnum moss.
