    pacman bite

I was just wondering if anyone here has been bitten by a pacman frog and if so, how bad was it? Would it be common for one to bite a person? Or at least attempt?

I've seen a big pixie get a guy once, he bled and couldn't stop laughing that the frog actualy got him, but it had to have hurt. Pixies have the same "teeth" that pacs do, bites from them can do some surprising damage.

    Re: pacman bite

Pacs can and do bite to the point of drawing blood. It doesn't hurt, but it can break the skin. They have two small "fang" looking teeth on the bottom and a whole line of them around the top jaw, but they are so small you can not feel them, as they are only to help hold their prey.

Pyxies and pacman frogs do NOT have the same teeth. The pyxies have three on the bottom and are not sharp at all. However, the bite of the pyxie is much worse than the pacman. I have seen a pyxie actually split a thumbnail from one end to the other with it bleeding from under the nail.

If you do get bitten by a frog(especially a pac), do NOT try to force it off of your finger because you can do some damage to them in the process.

    One of my ornates...

here's a not so good shot of the bottom teeth of the pacman.

    and this is the pyxie.

You can see the differences in the following links.

With a pacman just wait it out. They will let it go after a minute or so.

With a pyxie I would suggest just NOT getting bit!
