Re: Gerbils
Get AFR's they don't smell and with a few trio's you will never buy food again

I have looked up information on this subject, but any input from people with personal experience Breeding Gerbils or Feeding Gerbils to their BPs would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Gerbils
+1 on breeding african soft furred rats as opposed to gerbils.

Re: Gerbils
I would steer clear of gerbils. They stink (very weird musty odor), they can be difficult to breed, males can be very aggressive towards each other and they don't produce a lot of young.
Stick with mice, rats or ASF's.

Re: Gerbils
Okay....I breed both asf and gerbils
gerbils do not breed as fast as asf nor do they have litter sizes of asf. My gerbils average 6-8 per litter asf over 10, normally 12-14
ball pythons have a better feeding response on asf
However, asf take longer to get up to size. So...if you plan to raise asf you will need at east 3 tanks and I do recommend only using tanks
a 1.1 will flood a single ball python over time.So be prepared to freeze them off.
Dillsburg has a store call turtle Xing that sells large asf's that can get you going quick. I think they are $4ea there....
I sell for half that but mine aren't nearly as big.

UPDATE: Well, my Mother is no longer on board with Me Breeding ANYTHING, period. But Thanx anyway for telling Me about that shop. I'll buy them as single Feeders from there.
