    Finally! My First Eggs Ever!

I am so happy right now! This girl didn't lay until day 36 and I was about to die with anticipation. She is a 2007 hatch and this was her first year laying. To say I am pleased with the results would be an understatement. Come on male pewter!!

    First came love:

    Then came ovulation:

    Then came seemingly endless waiting:

Finally, Finally, a great mommy sitting on her eggs!

How many is that? Seven? Really!!?

All candled healthy, and are secure in the bator so mom can get some rest!

She was 1859 before laying the clutch, and the seven eggs were 557 grams. So overall they are a bit on the small side, but still looked very healthy!

    Go NCSU Wolfpack!

That is awesome! I love her pattern too. My favorite are the hive looking pics. As if she's hiding them, which she is, but you still know they are there, and it's funny.......ok, nevermind. Congrats!!! Can't wait to see the little ones.

BTW - isn't it late for laying season? Are there a lot more still waiting for girls to lay?

Oh. I thought there was a season. Well, a smaller season anyway. Not sure why, I have a december baby. Hopefully baby season never ends!!!

Nice, I think the reason the clutch weight is small is because there are 9 eggs!

Re: Finally! My First Eggs Ever!

Congrats, and good luck hatching at least 1.1 pewters.

I still have females that haven't laid yet. My girls are behind this year. In the '07-'08 season, my last clutch was laid exactly one year ago today.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

The other two eggs you see belong to my roommate Jordan, and are from a het albino to het albino cluth laid two weeks ago. Our incubator is running low on space due to some strange heating issues, so these two clutches will be boxed together until another earlier clutch hatches in about 20 days, then they will be separated.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I am on cloud nine tonight!

As for it being late, I think it is a little late, though people certainly have girls lay alter. I remember reading a thread though where a lot of people said their season seemed late this year.

    Go NCSU Wolfpack!
