Vivarium Hoods
Just got my first baby ball this week. I remember seeing a line of vivarium hoods online that have a spots for a night bulb, daytime heatlamp bulb and a regular light and also includes a timer in the unit so everything will automaticly turn on and off.
Sadly, I cannot find this product anymore. Does anyone know of a product like this and can point me in the right direction?
Thanks to all of you who can help.

Re: Vivarium Hoods
Hello and welcome to the site
I don't know what product you are thinking of but I just wanted to warn you that bulbs in vivariums make it very hard to maintain proper humidity in the enclosure. Ball python eclosures are most commonly heated through the use of undertank heaters. If you have not considered this option you may want to look into it.

Re: Vivarium Hoods
Thank you for the recommendation. I'll scour the site for all the undertank heater info/setup that I can find.

Re: Vivarium Hoods
There are many different types of UTHs available. I personally like to use flexwatt because its affordable and very reliable. The UTH should cover about 1/3 to of your snakes enclosure.
Its very important to have some sort of Thermostat or Rheostat to control the output of your UTH, without one you risk burning your snake. The belly heat that UTHs provide is very beneficial to the digestion process of your ball python.
I buy all my heating supplies from Rich at www.reptilebasics.com his customer service and shipping times are 2nd to none.
