New Rescue Filly
I have a young friend who purchased this filly, she is a "in your pocket" kind of baby.
My friends mares hated her, and the filly became very herd bound and due to the friction had to stay seperated from herd. She badly injured herself going THRU a wooden barn and stall to get to them, and then getting beat up while stuck half in the barn by the mares.
I brought down a mare to keep her company when they moved back near me.
Well they decided to sell her, and while my friend was in the hospital having her first baby, the hubby (not a horse person) thought it would be okay for me to take my mare back and put the filly in with the mares...
Within 24 hours she got a nasty deep cut on her other back leg, down to the bone. The local vet is nearly useless, and with a new baby, and I suspect lack of funds, the wound is in bad shape.
She is sound, but will need some major care to get the proud flesh down and looking almost normal.
I found a riding horse for my friend, and my barn owner was with me, and with her blessing, my friend really wanted me to take the filly.
So we unloaded the horse for her, and loaded up the filly...
She is now at our barn and will be getting a start on her leg.
Pics are courtesy of my friend Kris B. of Oh No Farms.
These are all pics prior to her injury, she is just 2, and was saddled but NOT ridden...

Re: New Rescue Filly
Wow she is a beautiful horse. I want a horse so bad, I've always loved them. But for now, I guess I gotta focus on the snakes. Good luck with the horse, hope the wound heals!
