    Got my first Pit!

Well I got my first Pit, a female Northern Pine Snake from Home Grown Herps. I picked her up in Columbia, SC on Sunday.

Those guys make some nice Pines. You'll like yours, I have no doubt.

Did you know that all the pituophis have an extra piece of cartilidge in front of their tracheas so that when they hiss it's even louder and more angry sounding?

I've got a cousin to yours, a pacific gopher, that just laid a dozen eggs last week. Those'll be neat too. They really look a lot like pines when they first hatch.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

I knew the Pines had that, didn't realize that all the Pits did. Mine knows how to use it, she was hissing at me tonight some. I like all the Bulls, Gophers and Pines too. I just wish I had more room for some!

That first pic is freaking gorgeous. Looks like a real tough guy lol. Almost looks like some sort of rattler or other viper. Very nice. I think I found another to add the the "things to get" list.
