    what are the odds?

okay so i just got a breeding size female 50% het albino...now i really got her because i got a good deal on her... i was really just looking for a normal to breed my male vanilla to since my female vanilla is still to young....well i still plan to breed the 50% het albino to my male vanilla but i wanted to know if
i was to buy a male 100% het albino and breed him to my 50% what would the odds be of getting an albino baby? my boyfriend really wants an albino...if the odds are not good ill just buy him one and keep the female for other breeding projects. or buy a male albino and breed him to her...
    thanks

    Re: what are the odds?

Your odds are 50/50 that the female proves out het and 1:4 that you hit an albino.

    Re: what are the odds?

Don't waste your time with a het..my advice save your money and when you can buy an albino male. Then not only do the odds increase to 50/50 and 50/50 but even if she don't prove out all the off spring are 100% hets.

    Re: what are the odds?

If its in your budget you might want to consider getting a male albino; this way if your female does not prove you still make 100% hets out of the pairing. If she does prove then you increased your odds of producing an Albino to 50%.

    Re: what are the odds?

There are 2 advantages I can think of to getting the het instead of the visual.

    1) - if you can't afford the visual, which may mean you literally don't have the money, or you would just rather use the money elsewhere.

    2) - if you'd like the thrill of the morph popping up in a clutch of eggs almost like magic since you don't own a visual snake of that morph.

Not saying these out weigh the advantages of buying the visual, just more angles to consider.
