    Here's the setup!!

Thanks for to everyone who responded in my thread about setting up a BP tank, after 3 days I think I got everything set up just right. Here are some pictures.

I have two hides on both sides, warm side is 94-95, and cool side is 83-84. I have some sticks/rock/log thinger to cover the empty space. Humidity is staying constant at 58%.

I use a UTH aswell as a Infrared heat lamp to keep the hot side temp up, as I have the UTH making the glass 95, so the lamp helps make the top of the aspen around 94. It also helps bring the cool side temp up from my room tempature which is 75 to around 83/84.

Looking good. You can lose the lamp, though. The top of the aspen should actually be around 92, and you can get that just by the heat seeping up. 95 is ok for the glass...just make sure it doesn't go any higher.

    Re: Here's the setup!!

93-95 is perfectly fine. I use 95 in my tubs, snakes are doing great.

You can keep the lamp if you feel it's necessary and doesn't decrease the humidity too much, but I've never felt the need for them. Granted, all of my Balls are in tubs and the room temp is 82-84.

If you find that the humidity stays high enough 50-60%, and the ambient temps stay warm enough (80-82 air temp with 82-84 ground temp) then go ahead and turn the light off. Just extra electricity being used

You don't really need the lamp. It will hurt more then help by just lowering your humidlty.

    Re: Here's the setup!!

I don't know exactly why, but without the lamp my "cool side" doesn't go up and stays room temp which is 72-75, I've read that they need to be in the
80s though so it helps keep the ambient temp up in the overall tank, aswell as keep the hot side up.

The thing with lamps is, they eat up humidity, but you don't seem to have a problem with humidity so it can't hurt to keep the lamp.
