    Question First Clutch questions

I have my first clutch in the incubator and we are on day 61, everything seems to be going well. Things have been "textbook" until this point. My questions/concern is that the eggs have yet to begin to collapse. when I candle the eggs the baby snakes to react to the light. As this is my first clutch ever I'd rather not cut.

Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Re: First Clutch questions

what are your temps? 61 seems a long time for the eggs to have not collapsed.

    Re: First Clutch questions

I've read that the incubation temperature can have an effect on how long it takes them to hatch... cooler takes longer. So you might want to post the temps your incubator has been running at so others will be able to help you better.

    Good luck with them!

EDIT: ARpythons types faster than I do.

Helix is set at 90 and the temps in the tub have been spot on 89 from the start. I have done an air exchange once a week. otherwise I let them be.

    Re: First Clutch questions

All I can contribute to this post from my VERY limited experience, is that I found cutting the eggs was pretty darn easy.

I would just leave them be. They know when they are ready

See this is what I love about this hobby. Just when you think you got it down pat these critters remind us that they know a hell of allot more about being snakes than we do. .LOL

Congrats Looks like some nice little snakes there.
