    Retirement of Breeding Snakes?

At what age or point do you retire your breeding snakes? Females? Males?

What do you do with them? I'm a sap, so I can imagine I will keep the majority of mine, certainly any which I breed from for years and years and get super attached to. I'm just curious what others do.

    Re: Retirement of Breeding Snakes?

I think it's often when a snake dies. If I'm not mistaken, females can lay big healthy clutches well into their twenties, so I don't think a lot of ball pythons are put into retirement.
What are these mojavas I keep hearing so much about?

    Re: Retirement of Breeding Snakes?

I would say its time to retire them when they start complaining of fake headaches during the breeding season?

I believe it was the Philadelphia zoo that had a 35 year old female still producing viable eggs.
