What's your maintenance schedule for eggs in the 'bator?

I'm interested in hearing the things established breeders do to and for their eggs while they're in the incubator.

How often do you actually open the tub to check on them? Blot away condensation? Touch them? Etc...

Put them in, check them once a week or so to maintain the temps and the humidity.

If there are problems (mold developing, problem roll out eggs, etc), I check more often, once every couple of days.

I do not mess with them much. I don't burp them much either. Once a week seems to work for me.

But I do check the thermostat often, but that does not require opening anything.

This freaks me out. It sounds so hard to get everything right. I need a helper in person to tell me what to do!

Oh yeah, forgot a question. If you've got a glass front on the incubator, how many times a day do you stand there with your face pressed against the glass daydreaming? Is that something that never goes away? I sure hope not!

Re: What's your maintenance schedule for eggs in the 'bator?

I use clear tubs so about once a week I peer into them all through the sides. If I don't see anything wrong they won't get touched or opened for 60 days! I get nearly 100% hatch rate so I'm not sure what the benefit is of opening them for air.

I am with Justin -- I don't open at all until day 45-50 when I take Press N Seal off from under lid and put back in cooker until hatching.

Lol, Maybe I need to breed birds or something so I can go touch and roll them every couple of hours!

I think I looked in the glass door of the incubator when I woke up, when I got home & before bed at the minimum. When they hit day 52 I would ask them to come out.
