    I need windows knowledgable people!

I have windows XP Pro. I need to do one of those things when you restore it....
My bro in law built this pc and donated it to us for the rescue, I haven't done any back up or whatnot. I need to restore it to that (it's only a few weeks back) Everything on here can be lost, it's already been backed into a CD
So how do I do that.
I can take direction and learn quickly but I am so technologically not advanced.
Any help is really, really appreciated
    Rusty
PS trying to do this tonight if possible, I know I am a demanding woman.

I'm a little confused as to what you want to do. You have the data on a CD, and you want to wipe the current hard drive contents and replace it with what's on the CD?

I'm looking to put it into "safemode" if that makes sense.
I have everything I need already downloaded onto to cd-r's that is on my pc now.
So I need to basically send my PC into safemode.

    1. Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.
    2. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER.
    3. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER.

That will put it into safe mode, but to do a system restore, you don't necessarily have to do that.

    Awesome, we're good.
Thank you so much. I am just not that PC literate.
    I really appreciate it.
I will definitely pay it forward.
Or if you need anything, I'm only a state away
    Thanks again

There is a much MUCH easier way to put your PC into Safemode without hovering over an F key.

Start-Run----msconfig. Choose the Boot.ini tab and check safemode.

I really hate having to hover and wait for that split second to push the button LOL
