I think he just sneezed. Help please?

I think I just heard my king snake sneeze twice. When I looked over he opened his mouth for a bit.

Are these definite signs of RI? He's actually exactly three as of yesterday. He's been eating fine, no changes to the cage.

If he hasn't been cooled or exposed to anything, it was probably nothing. He may have some bedding in his mouth he's trying to get rid of.

If you don't see mucous I wouldn't worry.

    Post up a pic.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

Sorry the glass is dirty, it's just water spray.

This is the only shot he would sit still for. I have to head to work, so if there is something you're looking for I'll try that tonight.

I have a cat that sneezes a lot, and that may be what I'm hearing.

Can snakes sneeze? Is it really an audible sneeze?

i once had a honduran who would sneeze when i kept him on aspen, when i switched to newspaper he stopped.the sneeze was barely audible.

might want look at the inside of his mouth to make sure there is no mucus or drainage.have fun!

I've never forced a snakes mouth open before.

Is this a potentially dangerous process or can I just squeeze his sides a bit?

i use my library card, about half as thick as a credit card and GENTLY pry the mouth open taking care not to put pressure on the teeth.there appears to be no drainage from the photo, just thought checking the mouth might head off a possible problem.

if your not comfortable doing this you may want to find someone more experienced to show you the first time.
