    Is this true..

I was told that rats have to get use to where they live before they will breed is this true? I was trying to buy some rats that maybe had a litter or 2 and start my breeding like that but the guy i went to told me sometimes you get lucky but usually rats need to get accustom to where they live..he said it could take a couple months sometimes or is this guy just trying to keep my money coming....Thanks

    Re: Is this true..

i doubt that very much... but bying babies and growing them to breed, you will wait a little while anyway before they mature.

i have heard of people saying their rats go off breeding with big temperature changes.

but i have moved my rats a few times into different enviorenments and they BREED LIKE RATS.. no waiting .......lots of food and water clean bedding ... no holding them back

I agree with the post above, i live in AZ my rats have been moved all over the place hot and cold back to hot. And they have never stop breeding. They are rats its what they do eat sleep poo and make babys.

If you give them proper husbandry, food and water, they will breed for you when they are ready to.
