First sorry for my english ...
please note: This is not a guide, It is just what happened with this particular female, just an excuse to show you some pics . As Barker saids, your females may do one, some, all or none of the following events ...
This is a simple cronology of events, between pre-lay shed and actual eggs deposittion.
1. The period starts with the pre-lay shed on April 5, the female keeps basking on the hot side 88 - 90 F
2. More and more of often the female is found resting in the ''coil'' position, the following photo is from April 23 ...
3. Three days prior egg deposittion (May 6), the female started to ''contortionate''...
Two days to egg deposition ...
One day before, she even made a pretzel!
4. On the eggs day (May 10, 35 days after the shed), she started to show very active, going from one side to the other of the tub.
5. She finally choose a place on the hot side and made a nest, this was noticeable due to the fact that the female removed all the aspen bedding from the choosen spot.
6. During the afternoon she layed four big, beautiful eggs!
