    temperature and humidity

for some reason, i can't get the temperature in the tank to be warm enough..anyone have any suggestions?

and for the humidity, i have central air in my house, so i got moss and moistened it with a tupperware on top with holes cut out the sides...is this sufficient?

    thanks so much!

    Re: temperature and humidity

Exactly. If you could tell us:
    What size tank?
How is it heated? (UTH, Flexwatt, etc)
    How is that heat controlled?
    Is the tank insulated?
Is the screen top foil or plexiglass covered?
What furniture do you have in there? (hides, dishes)
    What substrate are you using?

Then we could help you figure things out.

    Re: temperature and humidity

it is a size 29 tank...on the warm side, i have an undertank heater that covers half of the tank, and an above light..i'm not sure exactly what kind, but the bulb is red..on the warm side i have the tupperware container with the moist moss underneath and on the cooler side i have a hollowed out log and in between is his water bowl that's big enough for him to fit in

    thanks a lot guys!

    Re: temperature and humidity

Get some reliable thermometers, the digital kind with the probe. I am sure it is plenty warm in there.

As for humidity, you could treat 3/4th of the screen top with a layer of aluminum foil and then duct tape. That will help trap humidity, especially if you are using a lamp (those suck humidity out of the air).
