Re: Mom kills babies for 2nd time
I just had a new mom who ate off all her young (I should say Lucas339's young), and she'll be fed off asap!

Re: Mom kills babies for 2nd time
In my mouse colony, I breed for color a little bit because it makes it more fun for me. I had one female whose color that I really liked, but her babies kept getting eaten. The next time she got pregnant, I separated her and she did just fine when by herself. After that one litter, I put her back in a colony, and she's been a good mom ever since. So if this female is special to you, you could give that a try. However, in general, I'd recommend checking that the conditions are good (good food, plenty of security), and trying with a new mouse.
Deb is right that once you get a mouse colony going, they produce well without issues. I had all kinds of trouble with mice at first, but now they do great.

Re: Mom kills babies for 2nd time
When I caught one of my females eating her young for the second time, I waited a little while and then fed that wonderful meal to Simon
From now on, if they bite = feed, if they fight = feed, if they cause any trouble or stink = feed. Bad mice = fat snakes They breed so fast, I don't worry about their numbers anymore.
Funny thing is, all my mice are really good now
