    Re: first leo

    What caresheet did you read?

What are the temps? How are you providing heat?

Do you have more than one hide? Hot and cool side?

Do you have a humid hide?

    Calcium dish?

Not a fan of any loose substrate, but that bark may be OK.

Oh, and that's a great looking little leo!

Id switch the substrate to paper towels or tile, im not a fan of loose substrate either. a lonngg time ago ( about 6 years ago so things might have changed, I was not very reptile orientated then) I used the same stuff for iguanas and it always came with bugs ( Mites im guessing, again I did not know much) Id also get a smaller hide and make sure you have a hot/cold/and humid.

Come here little guy. You're awfully cute and fluffy but unfortunately for you, you're made of meat

Which reptical is it? Vitamins or Calcium? Should be phospherous free and WITH D3.

A small bottle cap with some calcium to free lick when they feel the need is a good practice.

    Here is my current setup:

Warm side humid hide filled with either damp eco-earth or spag moss. UTH + Infrared bulb on warm side. Plenty of warm and cool hiding areas. Slate. Water dish and feeding dish.

    Re: first leo

Sooo cute, makes me want to breed again.

For that little guy/girl, I would have a much smaller hide, and a much smaller/shallower water dish.

It cant hurt to have a little dish with calcium/vitamins in all the time, even if you dust the crickets.

Also how big is your tank?

Warm and hot sides of the tank are very important in order for them to regulate their body temperatures.

A humid hide is also a good idea to aid in shedding.

Its a good thing you got off the bark, it is difficult to deal with, and for a baby it is better to go with paper towel, its just easier to clean, and softer.

Other than that, it sounds good, It is good that you have a UTH.

    Good luck,
    Jamie (jrosen123)
