    My Pet Scorpion

I've had this little guy/gal for a bit over a year. I got him when he was 2i, now hes 3i. I have no earthly clue why it's so fat, as it's been that way since after its 2i mole to 3i.

Wow Is that a flat rock scorpion that is 3rd instar? I have never seen one that big unless it was gravid. That's interesting

LOL most people don't know they have the ability to fling venom from their tail, not really sure how accurate it is. I have never had that pleasure yet. I don't know if I will or not. I just can't wait till it matures, they're beautiful then.

    Re: My Pet Scorpion

Just be mindful the P. Transvaalicus has a higher rating on the ld-50 chart. If you don't have any scorpions, then I wouldn't recommend you getting a P. Transvaalicus first, they're expensive as babys as the adults usually sell for around $90. For a first scorpion I would recommend a Emperor, Desert Hairy, Flat Rock Sp's. Those are great starter scorpions. If you already have scorpions, then I would say step up to the Arizona Bark Scorpions. Just my advice as being kept scorpions for a few years.

Cool neal i've seen your posts inside the snake forums but didnt know you were into scorps too.

I must second your comment on the emperor scorps for beginners... I started with them then went to the desert/sand varieties and came back to exclusively emperors, I just love the guys cant say enough good about them.
